Microeconomic Policy

The microeconomic policy area monitors and participates with the relevant ministries in developing initiatives that will make the country more competitive.

It is particularly active in fomenting development in the areas of innovation, energy, the environment, small- and medium-sized business, agriculture, and transportation, among others.

It acts as executive secretary of the ministers’ committee on the economic area, and represents the Finance Ministry on the Telecommunications Development Fund Committee of the sub-secretary of telecommunications; the Committee to Attract Investment in High Technology of CORFO; the Inter-ministerial Advisory Committee on Bio- fuels in Chile; the Council for Competitive Innovation; the Ministers’ Committee for Innovation; and the Committee for Science and Technology Policies of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
